Ortho Kinematics Completes $3.5M Funding Round

Ortho Kinematics, an Austin, Texas-based company that leverages spine biomechanical data to improve the diagnosis and treatment of back pain, announced that it has completed a $3.5m funding round.
Investors in the round include PTV Sciences, the State of Texas Emerging Technology Fund, and Gatebridge Investments.
As stated by Adam Deitz, CEO of Ortho Kinematics, the funds will be used to expand the company’s commercialization plans.
Ortho Kinematics is commercializing the KineGraph VMA™ (Vertebral Motion Analyzer), a technology (limited by the US law to investigational use) that measures both the quantity and quality of inter-vertebral motion, providing spine surgeons a painless, non-invasive way to assess spine function.
The technology is currently installed at two U.S. hospitals and one location in the U.K., with several additional U.S. hospitals scheduled for installation over the next six months.
