Altira Group LLC, a Denver, CO-based venture capital and private equity firm investing between $5m and $15m in energy technology companies, announced that Sean Ebert and Cory Steffek have been promoted from Senior Associate to Principal effective immediately.
Sean Ebert joined Altira in March 2008 from Booz|Allen|Hamilton where he spent eight years in their energy practice advising energy companies on portfolio strategy, new business model development, and capital investment decisions. Mr. Ebert’s operational experience includes his role as an engineer for El Paso Energy, and as the CEO of an early stage energy technology company, Foresight Weather. He serves on the boards of oil and gas software companies TransZap, AGM, and Syntex. He earned his BS in Civil Engineering and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Cory Steffek joined Altira in April 2008 after receiving his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. As Group Leader of the Product Engineering Group at PPG Industries, he directed a portfolio of clean technology development projects to successful product launch. He serves as a board member of OPX and Varadigm.
Dr. Steffek also has a PhD in Chemistry with a concentration in Materials from the University of Michigan.
