Yorvale, a York, UK-based ice cream maker, has received a £94,000 Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) grant from the Regional Development Agency Yorkshire Forward.
The grant allowed the company, which was founded in 1989 and now employs a team of seven, to begin work on a 400m2 extension of its facilities at Acaster Malbis to meet increasing demand and create several jobs for local people.
The £63m RDPE is jointly funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the European Union.
Yorvale accessed their grant through the Rural Enterprise Investment Programme which provides grants starting from £25,000 and is available to rural businesses wanting to grow and become more productive.
