UK North East, iSM Gets £160,000 Grant for Business Investment

Internet Search Marketing Ltd (iSM), a firm that specialises in organic search engine optimisation (SEO) and ensures customers appear at the top of internet searches, is expanding.
One of the UK Regional Development Agencies, One North East, has offered the company a £160,000 Grant for Business Investment (GBI), which will help create 33 jobs at the business’ Berwick Upon Tweed, Northumberland headquarters over the next three years.
iSM, which currently employs 15 people, was founded in August 2007 as VRE Global Ltd. The company has been re-named Internet Search Marketing and rebranded as iSM in this expansion phase, which also saw it relocate to Ramparts Business Park.
iSM owns a portfolio of over 7,000 domain names and has developed a unique selling point of creating multiple microsites which rank strongly on search engines. The company has concentrated on the leisure and tourism industry though has significant coverage of many consumer and professional sectors as well.
The Grant for Business Investment (GBI) is part of Solutions for Business, the Government’s package of publicly funded support products offering help to companies to start, grow and succeed.
The initiative is partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund 2007-13.
